ReplyDeleteMy in-law's are visiting for the first time next weekend and I don't know how to cook Indian food that well. I just made this dish to practice and it turned out great! I will make this next weekend for sure! Do you have any other easy dishes you recommend? There are so many recipes on the internet but so many don't turn out which is discouraging. Yours is one of the first that worked out the first time and it was easy- thanks so much!Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Meeth for your lovely comments. I am very glad that recipe turnet out good and that you all liked it. Indian cooking is so simple once you know what works out. For any indian curry you need to have sourness ( from tamarind, lemon, tomatoes or mango ), spicyness( from chillies and pepper ), sweetness( from sugar or jaggery ) and never foget the salt. When you play with these ingredients i am sure you will come up with your own variations for a single recipe. I have very easy recipes here. let me list them out for you
ReplyDelete1) Boiled Potato Fry
2)Spicy Cabbage and potato curry
3)If you want your inlaws te relish the real south indian food go for this one Spongy Poha Dosa
4)Okra fry
could never be this simple and tasty
5)This one is very very simple dal

ReplyDeleteI've been cooking Indian food at home for years and am always on the look out for new recipes. I've found that for everyone that is good, another five are mediocre. This one is a winner, the resulting dish is quite excellent and simple to make.
ReplyDeleteI'd give it four stars.
I'd be interested to see your recipe for aloo gobi.
Thanks
